UI Design
Worked on both concept and production UI Designs for multiple in-car displays of the M-Byte.10+ features owned, designed, prototyped, tested, shipped and supported developers to finish building. Features including vehicle charging, OTA system, ADAS settings, in-car connectivity, welcome widgets, radio, seat settings/massage, hvac, navigation etc. All features worked through the complete process from initial ideation to the final pixel perfect implementation.
Contributed to building and maintaining the 1.1 version of the production UI design system by updating asset libraries and documenting UI guidelines on internal website.

UX Design
Performed as a hybrid UX/UI designer on certain features in the system(OTA, seat adjustment/massage ,radio,bluetooth/wifi/hotspot connection). Generated user journeys, user scenarios, user flows, wireframes and prototypes for UX phases. Worked closely with PM, devs and solution architectures on nailing down the final function based on the feature requirement.
Carried the final wireframe to UI concept exploration first if there's no asset available for use in the DS(design system) or applied existing design system directly to the wireframe if there's existing assets to use.
Prototyping & Design Validation
Created interactive prototypes from low-fi to high-fi for many features. Prototypes were used in design reviews, usability tests or reference for developers. Worked with research team on conducting and facilitating multi-rounds user testings with the prototype.
Navigation & Media
Worked closely with UX and develop team of Navigation provider on refining final interaction model and visual design implementation in the early stage of Navigation App development. Communicated with partner weekly on design feedbacks and updates in the early days at Byton.
3D
I'm in charge of creating all the 3D involved interfaces in the system including seat settings, hvac, fragrance, steering wheel adjustment and Byton profile. I pick right perspective, shading and lighting for the interior models in Autodesk Vred then import it to Sketch to build UI.
Design System
In April 2019, we decided to start building our first design system for our production intended UIs to give better consistency for our designers around the globe. I supported the design system lead by that time to analyze and document existing widgets, build up UI libraries and maintained it as part-time till now.
CES 2019/2020
Composed storyboards and visual designs for Byton's 2019 CES interaction design revealing video and Amazon Alexa video. Worked with design director and motion leads on rolling out the storyline and video key frames.
Supported China team on an on-site 3rd party app usability during a short visit to Nanjing. Prepared questionaires and shadowed the test.
Design Research and Validation
Amsterdam Roadshow 2018
Joined 2018 roadshow in Amsterdam, Netherland to support research lead and team on conducting visual design exploration validation for Byton's potential European customers. Prepared questionaires and worked with research team on facilitating the workshops.
Nanjing 2019
Interior/Interaction Design
I joined the team right after the reveal of Byton Concept car in CES 2018, the immediate task was to solve the interaction barrier between the front passenger and the SED(Shared Experience Display).
Supported the decision making workshops with UX/UI designers, interior designers, display/package engineers and product managers to make proposals. Kept working with Interior design leads for 6 weeks on some early ideations of production interior design features.
